Zelensky: Friday Conversation With Trump Best We've Ever Had

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is satisfied with the conversation he had with US President Donald Trump on Friday.

“It was probably the best conversation we’ve had so far, and also the most productive,” he said in a video message.

The two presidents called each other on Friday. According to Zelensky, Trump indicated that he wants to help Ukraine with air defence.

Earlier, Zelensky had asked the US president for Patriot air defence missiles, but he did not make it clear in the video message whether Trump had made any concrete commitments. On Friday evening, Trump said that Ukraine desperately needs the missiles to defend itself against Russia, which has significantly increased its air strikes in recent weeks.

In February, a conversation between Zelensky and Trump at the White House degenerated into an open argument. Since then, they have spoken several times, and the relationship has improved.
